Dear Bobcat Families!
November is a great time to take a moment to reflect and be thankful. We are so excited to have been named an ‘A’ school in the state of Arizona! Teachers, staff, and students all worked very hard to achieve this rating. Thank you for your support of; we couldn’t do what we do without you! Thank you for entrusting us with your students and partnering with us to make their social, emotional, and academic experience a positive one here at Benson Middle School. It is a Blessing showing up to campus every day to help shape the lives of so many middle school students.
We are thankful for our awesome Bobcat Family here at Benson Middle School. Our teachers and staff are hardworking and dedicated professionals with a “true heart” for all students. Being able to build relationships with students, staff, and parents that we respect and trust is priceless!
Just a reminder regarding student attendance:
There is no way around it — being in school is important to your student’s academic and emotional growth. Chronic absenteeism (missing more than 10% of the school year) is an indicator of poor academic success in future years and when severe (more than 20%) can begin to predict the rates at which students drop out of high school. Benson Middle School is a traditional school where instruction is designed upon the assumption that students will be in class every day, barring severe illness or a major life event. Please review your child’s school agenda for clarification of the school’s attendance policies.
Building positive communication and relationships between our staff, parents and students is important. Feel free to communicate with us if you foresee future absences or after an unexpected absence. We look forward to hearing from you.
We would like to invite parents to stop by and view the impressive mural and get a feel for the many Be Kind activities taking place on the middle school campus including our quarter 2 extracurricular events which can be found on our website.
We are dedicated to helping provide your student(s) with the skills they need to experience academic and behavioral success. Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.
